Arizona

I’ll do a quick post soon on school, or in other words, why I haven’t posted in two months! I will post it probably a few days!

So yes, I went to Arizona, I love it there. I REALLY wish that I had picked up my camera more often! I was just having so much fun visiting shops, eating breakfast with my grandma, and playing around. We only stayed there for a few days, but I felt like it was much longer! We played a lot of games from Skip-Bo, to Monopoly, to blind volleyball, to basketball in the pool. Blind volleyball was volleyball with a beach ball, in the evening, over our car in the parking lot, it was a lot of fun because you could not see the ball coming! There was also a cat that tried to get in our house several times, his name was Jasper.

We also went to a lot of shops, which I also wish I had gotten pictures of. My absolute favorite shop ever is The Soroptimist Thrift Store, most everything has a colored piece of paper stapled to it, and the stuff that isn’t, is labeled with a price. Guess how much I spent on a pair of shoes, 2 T-shirts, a vest, a sleeve less caftan, a long sleeved shirt, and 2 sweaters? ( I think that’s everything! ) No. Less than that. Nope. Nooo. Less. 14 dollars. Oh yeah. ONE of the sweaters would have cost me something like 25-30 dollars! There are for colors of paper there, two of them mean it’s one dollar, and the other two mean it’s two dollars. All the stuff I got was two each, oh the shoes would have been more, but they were half off.  So all in all, if you ever visit Wickenburg, visit my favorite store!!! 😀 We went to a few other shops as well, and they were all very nice too, everybody wants you to stop and talk!!

Next is breakfast! Every day I went to the lobby of the hotel I stayed at, with my grandma and sisters, for breakfast. For some reason this was one of my favorite things about this Arizona trip, and for some reason I drank tea every morning after I ate. Normally I’m not a huge tea person, but they had pre-hot water so all I had to do was grab a tea bag. Apple and/or cinnamon tea tends to be my favorite, but I enjoyed a raspberry tea while I was there.

While there’s not a lot of wildlife, I still feel that nature-wise, Arizona is very beautiful. I think it’s because in the city, I can’t see the sunset over rooftops, hills, and trees. Without all the busyness of shops and people, I have more time to pet the cat that’s rubbing at my ankles and to find the figures and castles in the sky. Even though I’m a huge introvert, I love it when people I don’t know say hi and that starts a conversation. Somebody I was talking to actually called me “young lady” I only thought people said that in books when they are angry at their kid, you know: “Get down here right now, young lady!” I was trying to think why nobody would call me that in the town I live and I realize that it probably hurts someone’s ‘self esteem’. I actually, don’t agree with people’s fits about ‘hurting someone’s self esteem’ I believe that some words hurt people, but I think that people should just use rude remarks to help them grow stronger. If this person is mean enough to say bad things about you, do you really think that their opinion of you matters? When I was younger and my brother got mad at me, he would tell me I was stupid, does that make me stupid? No, so why does it have to be a crisis every time someone says something, learn to ignore it! I obviously know now that being called stupid doesn’t make me stupid, why doesn’t anyone else know this, if you don’t let the remark get to you then they will eventually stop calling you that! Oh, wow, sorry I did not mean to go off about that, that was another strong opinion, but I’ll leave it in here. Sorry again for the lame pictures, I wish I’d taken more and better pics!

By the way, this is Jasper!

There you have it, we went to shops, we played fun games, saw cool stuff, but I did not get any pictures of those things!! 🙁   Oh, well. I’ll just have to go again next year!!! 😀 By the way, right now at my house it’s just as hot as it was in Arizona!!  Oh, and by the way again, in the last mammoth post there was this random picture of part of my dad, a fireplace, and some papers on a stone bench, I guess, well that picture I meant to label as the place that I wrote letters to my pen pals. (That was for all my pen pals who read my blog, and for all those people going: ‘What was that supposed to be a picture of?’ )

That was a very nice blog on your trip to the desert country.
Looks like Jasper wanted to adopt you, was he a hotel resident?
Were the windmills making noise when you went by? We went by a big windmill farm in Hawaii one time. They were all going around fast and making the weirdest noise–kind of spooky.
Anyway, your pictures were enjoyable. gagu

I think Jasper was staying with a resident who is staying for the year. I couldn’t hear the windmills, but they could have been making sounds.
