Inspire – Research

Hello everyone!

Oh my goodness, I’ve been up to so many different things lately!

First of all, I have a sort of “summer job”. It’s not an actual job in the sense that I’m not really paid for the work I do; so it’s more of a volunteer shift. Some of you may know that I work at a library every week, this is an extension of that shift – this summer I’ll be working a minimum of 60 hours. Which will include everything from artwork to setting up for events to putting on puppet shows to crowd control. It’s super fun and I’ve already begun working.

Another major thing is going on this summer and I am going to tell you about it, but. BUT! You have to wait just a little longer because it will involve you if you want and I have to straighten out some details before I tell you all!

Other than planning the above mentioned things, I’ve been coaching and swimming and reading whenever possible. I somehow always forget how stressful school and tests are around this time of year, it’s kind of like the Lord lets me purge it from all memory until it comes around again next year. I’m grateful for it, but at the same time I never feel prepared. So lately I’ve been studying like crazy, working on projects, signing up for more craziness like the SAT, and more. I wanted to share a few super cool favorite pictures that I came across while researching things for different projects.

I do not own any of the pictures and I in no way take credit for them. I don’t have all the links, but if you have the links, I would be happy to post them.

Hope you enjoyed!

Studying Essentials

A little week-day post for you. Better & longer posts coming this weekend hopefully. Survive.

The above picture I took about a year ago. Best way to study. The below picture I took this last week. Best way to study continues. Hello Panda is apparently one of the essentials to studying effectively. (Dude… My homework looked way more fun last year…)

Here are my for-real studying essentials:

  • quiet company – whether it’s quiet music or a sibling also studying, it’s almost impossible for me to study in silence. I think the silence distracts me because I’m used to working with at least four other people around me, so when given silence, I daydream instead.
  • mechanical pencils – I found out a year or so ago, that I want to write if I’m writing with a pen or mechanical pencil. So use whatever writing tools make you actually want to write something.
  • abundance of working erasers – as you could see in the first picture, I need to erase sometimes and erasers that leave gray smears drive me crazy.
  • snack or drink – although it will never last the entire study session, you can use it as a treat. I was allowing myself one panda after I read a page.
  • clipboard – don’t try to write on top of your books, just have a cute clipboard. Mine has little owls all over it.
  • breaks – take them to: stretch, grab a snack, attempt a handstand, run around the house, scream in a pillow, etc.
  • time limit – don’t sit down and say you’re going to study for a while, have a set ending time. Otherwise if you’re like me, you’ll study too long, get a headache, and be crabby until the test or final is over. (Which could be days later so have a set end time.)

I have a final and a few tests next week, so studying in on my mind. Good luck to anyone else with tests or possibly finals/midterms coming up!

Pics of Alfie

Here are the other two pictures of Alfie. I don’t know why they wouldn’t load before.  Don’t worry! I know this is a small post, but tomorrow I’m running the 5k so I’ll try to post the pictures! Wish me luck, I haven’t ran a full 3 miles in a while so this will be interesting. I’m excited for it… Read more →

Come and Sit..

I just had to do a short post on these benches, the first one is at my grandparents’ house and the other one is a Museum’s outside courtyard thing. (The first museum post is the one that has this bench.)   Read more →
