Hey everyone! Although I was still posting, between the ninth and the sixteenth I was on vacation!! We went up to Mammoth Lakes, which is a long car ride, but hey, getting there is half the fun!! If you know the place I’m talking about, you probably wonder why would we want to go up there in the summer, wouldn’t we want to go skiing in the winter? Well I’ll tell you what we do! My family likes hiking. I don’t. I like running, I like skipping, and I like standing still, but speed walking for a 2 hours or so, up a hill is not my dream-come-true. If I had the choice, I would love hiking because my family does and then it would be something I could enjoy, but it’s not my choice. I do try not to complain, but in any pictures of me hiking I’m not smiling, I’m grimacing. 😀 Anyway, normally up in Mammoth there aren’t very many people, but this year, down in the town, there was a quarter of all those people I saw in downtown Disney the other day!! So we stuck to the wilderness or we stayed locked up in our house. The weather up there is so much nicer than down here, we got hail and rain!! So I’m doing this in two posts here is the first batch of pictures!
Down in the town there is a cute little bookstore and we visited it once. They had a little used book section that I got a Clint Eastwood book from, Pale Rider. I’m looking forward to reading that!! 😀
What’s new with you?
hee hee in the first picture with the truck, that was the truck that we where stuck behind for a long time 😀
Love the jay with his mouth full! Good pics of the road too…
Loved the pics of the scrub jay and his peanuts.
One of my highschool girlfriends lived in Mammoth after college. She married a man who owned a gas station there. She lived there for several yrs. Her parents lived in Lone Pine. I went to Lone Pine with her once for a few days but never visited her in Mammoth.
Thanks for the pics, love gagu
