Evangelism

(Matthew 28:16-20) Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. when they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted him. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Evangelist: A person who preaches good news about Jesus.

A lot of Christians have good relationships with the Lord, serving others, attending church etc, but not many Christians go out and tell others about the Lord. I know that doing that is really awkward, going up to someone and telling them that what they believe in is false and the way they live their life isn’t good, and a lot of us don’t do this because we are afraid. Think about this though: Telling people about the Lord is the best way to love them. Even people who aren’t Christian know about Heaven and Hell, and when people who aren’t Christian die, they don’t go to Heaven. So if you knew that your friend was not a Christian why wouldn’t you tell her about Jesus. It’s a sin not to tell people, read again what Jesus said, he is commanding you to tell others, not suggesting, not offering, commanding. Yes, it is awkward trying to tell people about Jesus, and sometimes people may not want to be your friend anymore, but isn’t it better to tell them. There is a good chance that they will listen, and even if they don’t become a Christian you know that you still did what Jesus told you to do. Also realize this: Jesus and God don’t need you to do this. Our almighty father in Heaven does not need us to tell others about the Lord, He could do this whole thing Himself, convince everybody, and in less time then we ever could. So you may wonder why we have to tell others? Why, if He could do it so much better, do we have to break open our shells and talk? The answer is plain. Our Father knows what is best for us, and he has told us what to do. Sharing your faith with others leaves you on fire for God, it will empower your life and make you a better Christian. If your parents tell you to take your medicine, although it tastes bad, you take it because you know that they know what is best for you and you know that they love you. Same thing with God, your Father told you to do this, now, go tell people about Him. Silence is a sin.
