Hey everyone!! I know, I’m sorry, I’ve been gone… I had some computer problems and right now I need to figure out why I can’t get pictures onto my laptop with my SD cards. So I don’t have any photography pictures to show you and I won’t until I can fix it. I’m also having a little trouble with photography right now, but I’m going to explain that in another post.
So today is the story behind a little adventure I thought I’d never do–eat frog legs! I had to make and eat French food for a homework assignment for my French 2 class. There are two sisters who live close enough for us to meet up and we decided to cook food together! At first we were considering something normal like crepes, but somehow we ended up thinking of snails and frog legs! We planned it all out with a menu and everything, we couldn’t get the snails so we went with the frog legs. So we met this last Sunday to make and eat food and study for our test.
We made the frog legs, chocolate mousse, a salad, and we ate bread too! The frog smelled ok while it was cooking, but not really good or yummy. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to eat it knowing that I was eating a frog. Ugh. So it was finally all cooked, we had already eaten the bread and the salad because we were hungry and we hadn’t eaten lunch. The older one of the sisters picked up a piece of the frog and tasted it. She smiled and said it tasted pretty good! My courage level went up, and dropped, when the younger sister took a bite and right awayΒ spat it out. π She was just as grossed out as I was, but I finally took a little piece and tried it. I know you’re waiting to hear that I either loved it or I hated it very much… I didn’t love it or hate it. It was ok, I thought the actual frog was very bland. I would eat it if someone served it to me again, but I wouldn’t order it or make it using that recipe again. IT DID NOT TASTE LIKE CHICKEN!!! Chicken is way better than frog in my opinion, but the frog legs looked and tasted like a cross between fish and chicken.
The chocolate mousse was amazing. I can’t even begin to tell you just how much I’m seriously going to have to make it again in this next week. Anyways, we had a great time! Even studying was fun! Here’s a picture their mom took of our beautiful frog legs being cooked. π
I will try my very hardest to post more! I’ll explain why I’ve been lacking in pictures in another post and I was recently awarded, so I’ll be doing that too! ( Thank you, MorningTime!!!) I’d love to know if you guys have eaten any new or weird things too! Until next time, which I hope is soon!
xx
YES! make us chocolate mousse! π
Hahaha, ok! Julia wants me to make her frog legs and you want me to make you mousse! xD Alright! Although, it’s got raw eggs in it you know. π
yea.. its just raw meat I hate. If I cared about raw eggs I would eat less cookie dough.
But I can’t give that up! ;D
Haha, ok! I’ll try to get around to making it soon then! xD I think it’s weird we talk on here… xD It’s not like we don’t see each other! π
Dude… that picture… o.o Gross xD
