Hello!

Hey everyone!! I’m back! I finished my week at culinary camp and I had a truly amazing time!! We made a couple of different food dishes, but our final project was a recipe involving forty pounds of potatoes: Yukon Gold Potato Salad. Sounds easy, maybe? Haha, no. All our group knew about potato salad was what we were told on a little piece of paper.

  • potatoes
  • egg
  • red onion
  • scallion
  • cilantro dressing

And that’s it. We didn’t know what was in the dressing, we didn’t know how to cook the potatoes, or anything. Yet, in the end, we had a AMAZING potato salad with our dressing that we perfected by testing different ingredients and playing with ratios. We had added bacon pieces and celery slices to the final salad and we ended with this: (and three more bowls full.)

I never used to really think I enjoyed cooking, but I adore it now. Even after a 32+ hour week of cooking, I came home and still loved it. I’m even planning on making some muffins today! The entire week was amazing, I loved every bit of it, even doing the dishes was fun!! (and I’m not even kidding!) If you love cooking, I suggest doing the Art Institute’s Summer Studio. (You can also pick from other classes such as photography, fashion, film making, etc.) I’m not paid to tell you any of this, this is just me telling you that that week was nothing short of outstanding! 😀

I’ll try to get back into the frequent blogging habit again. So you can look forward to posts again. 😉

Haha, Sarah! I know right?! I’ve had this craving all week… I’m so sorry I couldn’t do the guest post! 🙁 I wish it would have worked out.
